This week’s strategy is about awareness on food portions.
In the last 20 years or so, not only have the portions increased in your plate but your plate has increased in size as well, from 8 inches to 12 inches in some case and so have your bowls and cups. That can impact how much you’re eating. Our perception of what’s appropriate of food quantities is completely distorted.
So for a quick visual that’s proportionate for you and always with you look at your hand:
-the palm of your hand represents your protein
-a closed fist – veggies
-your hand cupped – carbs
-your thumb tip- the amount of fats
It’s not perfect but it’ll give you an idea wherever you are!
