This week’s strategy is about how to decrease sugar cravings.

 

As you already know sugar is highly addictive and there are many reasons why you might have cravings from imbalances to even infections so let’s begin with one solution to stop them before they even start.

How about a little bit more sleep, when you’re tired, your body is not getting the energy it needs to function so it will start to crave sugar to generate energy.  I know sometimes we have no control over sleep so if that wasn’t possible, at least try to get some of these foods into your day:

  • Cacao powder
  • Dark leafy green vegetables
  •  Pumpkin seeds
  • Nutritional yeast
  • Beans

All of these will help with balancing your blood sugars or for helping the absorption of nutrients.

And make sure you have good quality protein

Also on a holistic note, ask yourself this: are you settling for that cheap chocolate bar when all you really wanted was to go out with your friends or you fill in your own blank?
